CELJE, Slovenia (Interstat) — Celje and Shelbourne FC played to a 0-0 draw in UEFA Europa Conference League group stage play Thursday at Stadion Z’dežele.

The result defied pregame projections, as statistical models heavily favored Celje and anticipated goals. The match was a physical, disjointed affair marked by eight yellow cards, with Shelbourne’s Sean Boyd receiving the first in the 12th minute.

Despite numerous substitutions from both sides, neither team could break through. The stalemate leaves both clubs with identical records in the competition and across all competitions this season: zero wins, zero losses and one draw.
