BUDAPEST, Hungary (Interstat) — Vasas II opened its Nöi Magyar Kupa campaign with a 3-0 victory over Mezoors KSE on Wednesday at Illovszky Rudolf Stadion. Marton Wagenhoffer opened the scoring in the 26th minute, and Bence Pethő doubled the lead in the 72nd. The result defied a pregame projection from Interstat, which had given Vasas II a 66 percent chance to win but simulated a 1-1 draw. Vasas II begins the season with a win in all competitions, while Mezoors KSE starts with a loss.
