BANDAR LAMPUNG, Indonesia (March 10, 2026) (Interstat) — Bhayangkara opened its Liga 1 season with a 2-1 victory over Arema in a match featuring two red cards and eight yellows Tuesday at Stadion Sumpah Pemuda.

Substitute Joel Vinícius broke a scoreless deadlock in first-half stoppage time, assisted by Slavko Damjanović. Vinícius later assisted Moussa Sidibé for Bhayangkara’s second goal in the 76th minute. Arema’s lone reply came from Privat Mbarga shortly after.

The match was marred by discipline issues. Arema’s Pablo de Oliveira received a yellow card and later a red just before halftime. Teammate Dalberto was also sent off in the 71st minute. The result defied a pregame projection of a draw, handing Bhayangkara a winning start while Arema began with a loss.
