SALFORD, England (March 17, 2026) (Interstat) — Salford City opened its League Two season with a 3-1 victory over Barrow at The Peninsula Stadium on Tuesday, outperforming pregame projections.

Ryan Graydon put the hosts ahead in the 20th minute. Fabio Borini doubled the lead in the 69th, but Barrow substitute Danny Rose cut the deficit to 2-1 eight minutes later. Borini secured the points with his second goal in the 83rd minute.

The result defied Interstat’s game simulator, which had projected a 1-1 draw. Salford City begins the campaign with a win, while Barrow starts with a loss. Josh Gordon and Matt Butcher received yellow cards for Barrow.
