Grimsby Town vs Bromley

GRIMSBY, England (Interstat) — Grimsby Town will seek to reverse a recent result and continue its improved home form when it hosts Bromley in an English League Two fixture on Saturday.

The match at Blundell Park pits two mid-table sides with contrasting recent trajectories. Grimsby (14-9-10) enters with momentum, coming off a 3-1 home victory over Salford City on Tuesday. That win extended its unbeaten run at home to five matches (3-0-2), a streak that includes clean-sheet victories over Cheltenham Town, Colchester United and Barnet.

Bromley (12-12-9), however, holds the psychological edge from the last meeting. The Ravens defeated Grimsby 2-0 at Hayes Lane on Dec. 20 in the teams’ only other encounter this season. Bromley is unbeaten in its last five league outings (2-0-3), though it was held to a 0-0 draw by Oldham Athletic in its most recent match, also on Tuesday.

Grimsby manager David Artell will likely rely on a defense that has conceded just four goals in its last five home games. The Mariners’ attack, led by recent scorers from the Salford win, will be tested by a stubborn Bromley side.

Bromley, managed by Andy Woodman, has proven difficult to beat on the road lately, with only one loss in its last five away fixtures (2-1-2). That run includes an impressive 4-1 victory at Gillingham on Jan. 31. The Ravens’ form has been built on defensive solidity, recording three clean sheets in their last seven matches across all venues.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the contest is projected to end in a 1-1 draw. That result would mirror Bromley’s recent pattern of tight matches, with three of its last four ending level.

The fixture is part of a congested League Two schedule. Following Saturday’s game, Grimsby will travel to Oldham Athletic on March 14. Bromley’s next match is at home against Bristol Rovers on the same date.

With both teams positioned within six points of the playoff places, every point is crucial as the season enters its final two months. Grimsby will aim to use its home advantage to close the gap, while Bromley looks to complete a season double over the Mariners and solidify its own top-half standing.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. local time at Blundell Park.
