TOKYO (Interstat) — Two Japan Football League sides mired at the bottom of the table will face off Friday when Asuka FC hosts Maruyasu Okazaki.

The matchup at Asuka’s home ground features two of the league’s most struggling clubs. Asuka FC sits last in the standings with a dismal record of 3 wins, 14 losses and 12 draws. Maruyasu Okazaki is only marginally better at 11-19-9. Both teams’ records across all competitions are nearly identical to their league form.

Recent results offer little hope for an offensive breakout. Maruyasu Okazaki is winless in its last four matches, coming off a 1-1 draw with Reilac Shiga on Nov. 7. Prior to that, the team was shut out in three consecutive losses.

Asuka FC’s form is equally poor, having lost 3-1 to Reinmeer Aomori in its last outing on Nov. 8. The club has managed just one victory in its last ten contests.

In their most recent head-to-head meeting on June 14, Maruyasu Okazaki secured a 1-0 home victory. Despite the teams’ collective struggles, the Interstat game simulator projects a narrow 1-0 win for the home side, Asuka FC.

Both teams will look to this fixture as a rare opportunity to secure three points before their next league games on Nov. 22, when Maruyasu Okazaki hosts Minebea Mitsumi FC and Asuka FC travels to face Criacao Shinjuku.
