HELSINKI (Interstat) — Ilves scored three unanswered goals to defeat IF Gnistan 3-1 in a Veikkausliiga match at Mustapekka Areena on Saturday. Oliver Pettersson opened the scoring for the hosts in the 49th minute, but Ilves responded immediately with Roope Riski equalizing three minutes later. Substitute Marius Söderbäck secured the win for the visiting side with a goal in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time. The game was Illes’s first of the season in the Finnish top flight. The result defied the pregame projections, as Interstat’s game simulator had predicted a 3-2 Ilves victory and gave the club a 93 percent probability to win.
