MALLORCA, Spain (Interstat) — Karl Etta Eyong came off the bench to score a 22nd-minute equalizer, helping Mallorca secure a 1-1 draw with Levante in a La Liga match on Sunday at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix. Levante took an early lead through defender Pablo Maffeo in the 79th minute, but Eyong responded just three minutes later to split the points. The result defied pregame projections that heavily favored a Mallorca victory. Both clubs opened their league campaigns with a draw, leaving them with identical records. The match was a physical affair, with five yellow cards issued by the officiating crew.
