ACCRA, Ghana (Dec. 26, 2025) (Interstat) — Hearts of Oak began its Ghana Premier League campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over Samartex on Friday at University of Ghana Sports Stadium. Forward Hamza Issah scored the game’s lone goal in the seventh minute, securing the win for the home side. The result defied a pre-match projection from Interstat, whose simulator had forecast a 1-1 draw, though its ELO system heavily favored Hearts of Oak. With the victory, Hearts of Oak starts the season with a win, while Samartex begins with a loss. Both clubs’ records across all competitions mirror their league results after this opening match.
