Paterno vs Milazzo
Preview: Paterno Hosts Milazzo in Serie D Clash
PATERNO, Italy (Interstat) — A tight Serie D contest is projected Sunday when Paterno hosts Milazzo, with both sides seeking momentum in the final stretch of the Italian fourth-tier season.
The match at Stadio Comunale di Paterno kicks off at 3 p.m. local time (1300 GMT).
Interstat’s game simulator forecasts a 1-1 draw, a result that would extend Milazzo’s recent edge in the head-to-head series. The visitors won the last meeting 1-0 at home on Nov. 30.
Form, however, favors neither side decisively. Milazzo (9-11-8) arrives after a 3-1 road loss to Enna Calcio SC on Wednesday, snapping a brief two-match unbeaten run. Their season has been inconsistent, marked by a 4-0 win over Vibonese in February but also several multi-goal defeats.
Paterno (7-6-15) has struggled more profoundly, sitting lower in the Group I table. They are looking to rebound from a 3-1 defeat at Sambiase on April 2. Their defense has been a persistent concern, conceding three or more goals in six of their last eleven matches, including a 6-0 thrashing by Vigor Lamezia in February.
Key for Paterno will be replicating their occasional offensive sparks, like a 3-2 win over Sancataldese, while shoring up at the back. Milazzo will rely on a defense that has kept three clean sheets in 2026, though its away form has been spotty.
The fixture is critical for mid-table positioning. Milazzo faces a quick turnaround, hosting Vigor Lamezia next Wednesday. Paterno’s schedule continues next Sunday with a trip to Reggina.
