Le Mans vs Red Star

LE MANS, France (Interstat) — A surging Red Star side visits an upstart Le Mans team in a Ligue 2 matchup Saturday that pits one of the division’s top clubs against one of its most efficient.

Red Star (8-3-2) sits near the top of the table, having won four of its last five league matches, including a 2-1 victory over Saint-Etienne II last Saturday. Their potent attack has produced 20 goals this season, though a 3-0 loss at Littoral Dunkerque on Oct. 28 showed a capacity for inconsistency.

Le Mans (3-1-1), while playing fewer games, has been difficult to beat. They are unbeaten in their last three outings, most recently a 1-0 win over Nancy on Oct. 31. Their defense has conceded only five goals in league play, presenting a stern test for the visiting attack.

The statistical service Interstat projects a tightly contested 1-1 draw at Stade Marie-Marvingt.

Red Star’s form across all competitions is strong at 9-3-3, while Le Mans holds a 3-3-2 overall record. Following this match, Le Mans travels to Pau on Nov. 21, while Red Star’s next fixture is at home against Clermont on Nov. 22.
