LE MANS, France (Interstat) — William Harhouz scored in the 65th minute to lift Le Mans to a 1-0 victory over Nancy in a French Ligue 2 match Friday at Stade Marie Marvingt.

The lone goal, assisted by Alexandre Lauray, decided a physical contest that featured eight yellow cards. Nancy failed to find an equalizer, leaving Le Mans goalkeeper Nicolas Kocik with a clean sheet.

The win improves Le Mans’ league record to 3-1-2, while Nancy falls to 4-5-3. The result defied a pregame projection from Interstat that gave Le Mans a 72.7% probability to win but had simulated a 1-1 draw.
