Selangor vs Melaka
PETALING JAYA, Malaysia (Interstat) — Selangor delivered a dominant first-half blitz, scoring three times within the opening 13 minutes to cruise past Melaka 3-0 in a Malaysia Super League match Sunday at Stadium Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya.
The result, played Dec. 28, 2025, solidified Selangor’s position among the league’s top sides this season while extending a dismal run for a struggling Melaka squad.
The match was effectively decided in its opening moments. Selangor needed just two minutes to open the scoring, with Noor Al Rawabdeh finding the net to immediately pressure the visitors. Any hope of a Melaka response was quickly extinguished as Selangor doubled its lead in the 10th minute through a goal from Alvin Fortes. The onslaught continued just three minutes later when Chrigor Moraes added a third, completing a devastating early spell that left Melaka shell-shocked.
With a commanding 3-0 lead established before the quarter-hour mark, the remainder of the contest saw Selangor comfortably manage the game. Melaka, unable to mount any significant offensive threat, failed to register a goal. The final scoreline surpassed the pregame projection from Interstat’s game simulator, which had predicted a 2-1 victory for Selangor. The firm’s ELO rating system had given the home side a 93.10 percent probability to win.
The victory improves Selangor’s Super League record to nine wins, three losses and three draws this season. Their form across all competitions now stands at 11 wins, three losses and three draws, demonstrating consistent performance. In contrast, Melaka’s troubles deepened, with its league record falling to just one win, seven losses and two draws in the campaign, a record mirrored in its overall results for the season.
The loss is the latest in a difficult stretch for Melaka, which has now lost three consecutive matches and been shut out in its last two outings. Its only victory in the last ten matches across all competitions was a 2-0 result against Negeri Sembilan on Dec. 6. The team has conceded 15 goals while scoring only once in its four most recent games.
Selangor, meanwhile, has won three of its last four Super League matches, showcasing potent offense by scoring 13 goals in those three victories. The team’s only recent setback in the competition was a 2-0 loss to Kelantan on Nov. 22.
Looking ahead, Selangor faces a major test in its next fixture, hosting perennial powerhouse Johor Darul Tazim on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026. Melaka will seek to end its losing streak when it hosts Sabah on Saturday, Jan. 3. The two teams are scheduled to meet again in the return league fixture on Saturday, Feb. 28, in Melaka.
