PRESTON, England (Interstat) — Preston North End edged Sheffield United 3-2 in a frenetic Championship match Friday at Deepdale Stadium. The game saw a flurry of goals just before and after halftime, with all five scored in a wild 48-minute span.

Substitutes Andre Brooks and Callum O’Hare traded early goals. Preston’s Lewis Dobbin scored in first-half stoppage time, only for Sheffield United’s Japhet Tanganga to answer immediately after the break. Daniel Jebbison netted the winner in the 58th minute. The result defied a pregame projection of a draw, as Preston was favored to win.
