Frejus St-Raphael vs Toulon

FRÉJUS, France (Interstat) — Fréjus St-Raphaël will host Toulon on Saturday, May 2, in a National 2 clash that could have playoff implications for both sides.

The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in their most recent meeting on Jan. 10 at Toulon. Saturday’s match at Stade Louis Honoré begins at 6 p.m. local time.

Fréjus St-Raphaël enters the contest on the back of a scoreless draw at home against Saint-Priest on April 25. That result extended a mixed run for the home side, which has won two, drawn three and lost five of its last 10 matches. Fréjus St-Raphaël’s form has been erratic: It defeated Rumilly Vallières 3-1 on April 18 but then lost 4-1 at Limonest on April 10 and 4-0 at Istres on April 3. The team’s overall record in that 10-game stretch includes a 1-1 draw at Rousset-Ste Victoire on March 28, a 4-0 loss at Cannes on March 21, a 1-1 draw at home against Hyères on March 14, a 1-1 draw at St Maur Lusitanos on March 7, a 3-1 victory at home over Rousset-Ste Victoire on Feb. 21, a 2-0 win at Grand Ouest Association Lyonnaise FC on Feb. 14, and a 2-0 home loss to Nîmes on Feb. 7.

Toulon, meanwhile, heads to Fréjus after a 2-1 win at home against Rumilly Vallières on April 25. That victory snapped a four-match winless streak in all competitions. Toulon’s recent run has been similarly inconsistent. Before the win, Toulon lost 2-0 at Limonest on April 18, drew 2-2 at home with Istres on April 11, lost 3-0 at Andrézieux on April 3, and beat Cannes 4-2 at home on March 28. The team’s other recent results include a 2-1 loss at Hyères on March 21, a 1-1 draw at home against St Maur Lusitanos on March 14, a 3-2 win at Rousset-Ste Victoire on March 7, a 1-1 draw at home with Grand Ouest Association Lyonnaise FC on Feb. 21, a 3-2 loss at Nîmes on Feb. 14, and a 2-1 loss at home to Créteil-Lusitanos on Feb. 7.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw, a result that would mirror the previous head-to-head meeting.

Both teams have two matches remaining after Saturday. Toulon travels to Saint-Priest on May 9, then hosts FC 93 Bobigny-Bagnolet-Gagny on May 16. Fréjus St-Raphaël visits FC 93 Bobigny-Bagnolet-Gagny on May 9, then hosts Grasse on May 16.

Saturday’s match figures to be tightly contested as both sides look to solidify their positions in the National 2 table.
