Guangxi Pingguo vs Shanghai Jiading
GUANGXI, China (Interstat) — Guangxi Pingguo, sitting at the bottom of the China League One table, will look to defy both recent form and a statistical projection when it hosts mid-table Shanghai Jiading on Saturday.
The matchup at Pingguo’s home ground pits two teams struggling for consistency in the final stretch of the season. Guangxi enters the contest with a league-worst record of 6-24-8. Its form has been dismal, with the team losing its last two matches without scoring a goal, including a 2-0 defeat to Yanbian Longding on Oct. 26.
Shanghai Jiading (13-18-8) has also stumbled recently, coming off a 2-1 loss to Foshan Nanshi FC on Oct. 25. Despite its superior standing, Shanghai has managed just two wins in its last 10 league outings.
Recent history heavily favors the visitors. The two sides met twice on the same day, June 28, in a scheduling anomaly, with Shanghai Jiading winning both contests by an identical 3-1 scoreline, once at home and once on the road.
However, Interstat’s game simulator predicts a different outcome for this encounter, forecasting a narrow 1-0 victory for the home side. A win for Guangxi would be a massive upset and provide a rare bright spot in a difficult season.
For Shanghai Jiading, the game represents a critical opportunity to regain momentum and solidify its position in the league ahead of its next match against Chongq Tongliang on Nov. 8. Guangxi Pingguo will travel to face Shaanxi Lianhe FC on the same date.
