Foshan Nanshi FC vs Shanghai Jiading

FOSHAN, China (Interstat) — Shanghai Jiading looks to solidify its mid-table standing against a struggling Foshan Nanshi FC side when the China League One clubs meet Saturday.

The matchup at Foshan’s home ground pits two teams on divergent paths this season. Shanghai Jiading enters with a 13-16-8 record in league play, positioning it comfortably ahead of the relegation zone. Foshan Nanshi, meanwhile, sits near the bottom of the table with a record of just 5-11-8, desperate for points to climb to safety.

Recent form heavily favors the visitors. Shanghai Jiading is coming off a 3-0 loss to Liaoning Tieren FC but had won two of its previous three matches, including a 2-1 victory over Dalian Kuncheng FC on Oct. 11. Foshan’s form is far more concerning, having been outscored 6-1 in its last two outings, a 2-0 loss to Chongq Tongliang and a 4-1 defeat to Yanbian Longding.

The head-to-head history also gives Shanghai Jiading an edge. In their most recent meeting on June 22, Shanghai secured a 2-1 home victory over Foshan.

Despite the lopsided records, the Interstat game simulator projects a tight, low-scoring affair, predicting a 1-1 draw. For Foshan, any point would be a positive result as it seeks to halt its recent slide, while Shanghai will aim for all three to maintain its position ahead of a Nov. 1 trip to Guangxi Pingguo.

Foshan’s next test is at home against Shijiazhuang Kungfu on Nov. 1.
