CHANGWON, South Korea (Interstat) — Gyeongnam opened its K League 2 season with a 2-0 victory over Cheonan City on Sunday at Changwon Football Center Stadium. Forward Cho Youngkwang opened the scoring in the 11th minute, and Park Wonjae added a second-half goal in the 62nd to secure the win. The match was a physical affair, featuring five yellow cards and two red cards, with Cheonan City’s Lee Sangjun and Gyeongnam substitute Jin Uijun both being sent off. The result defied the pre-game projection from Interstat, which had simulated a 1-1 draw. Gyeongnam begins the campaign with a win, while Cheonan City starts with a loss.
