HWASEONG, South Korea (Interstat) — Substitute Won Kijong scored in the 73rd minute to lift Gyeongnam FC to a 1-0 victory over Hwaseong FC in K League 2 play at Hwaseong Stadium on Saturday.

The match’s complexion changed in the 27th minute when Hwaseong’s Ham Sunwoo was sent off with a red card, forcing the home side to play a man down for the majority of the contest. Won, who also received a yellow card shortly after his goal, secured the win for the visitors. The result defied pre-game projections that heavily favored Hwaseong.

Gyeongnam improved its season record to 14 wins, 25 losses and six draws. Hwaseong fell to 9-17-6.
