Comoros, Mali Play to Scoreless Draw in Africa Cup of Nations Group Stage Match
CASABLANCA, Morocco (Interstat) — Comoros and Mali opened their Africa Cup of Nations campaigns with a 0-0 draw on Monday at Stade Mohamed V. The result defied pre-match projections, as Interstat’s game simulator had forecast a 2-0 Mali victory and its ELO system gave Comoros a 66.4% win probability.
The match was marked more by discipline issues than scoring chances. Mali was reduced to 10 men when Amadou Haïdara received a straight red card in the 88th minute. Four yellow cards were also issued, with Comoros’ Kenan Toibibou and Mali’s Mohamed Camara among those cautioned.
The stalemate leaves both nations with identical records in the tournament and across all competitions: zero wins, zero losses and one draw.
