RABAT, Morocco (Interstat) — Uganda and Tanzania played to a 1-1 draw in an Africa Cup of Nations group stage match Saturday at Al Medina Stadium.

The result left both nations with identical records in the competition and across all competitions: no wins, no losses and one draw. The match defied pregame projections from Interstat, which gave Uganda a 69.7% chance to win and simulated a 4-2 victory.

The deadlock was broken in the 80th minute when Uganda’s Uche Ikpeazu scored on a header, assisted by midfielder Kenneth Semakula. Tanzania found an equalizer later in the match. The game was physical, featuring five yellow cards, including one for Ikpeazu in stoppage time and one for Semakula just before halftime. Uganda’s Denis Onyango also received a booking.
