Viborg, Midtjylland Women Battle to 3‑3 Draw in Wild Superliga Finish
VIBORG, Denmark (Interstat) — Viborg and Midtjylland Women played to a frantic 3-3 draw in Danish Superliga play Sunday at Energi Viborg Arena.
Midtjylland W built a two-goal lead with first-half scores from Bilal Brahimi in the 18th minute and Tim Freriks in the 37th. Viborg’s Valdemar Andreasen cut the deficit in the 58th, but Martin Erlić restored Midtjylland’s two-goal cushion in the 69th.
Viborg mounted a dramatic late comeback. Mads Bech Sørensen scored in the 87th minute before setting up Mees Hoedemakers’ equalizer in second-half stoppage time. The result defied a pregame projection that heavily favored Viborg to win.
