VfL Vichttal vs B-W Koenigsdorf

VfL Vichttal Hosts B-W Koenigsdorf in Oberliga Clash

VICHTAL, Germany (Interstat) — VfL Vichttal will aim to build on a high-scoring victory when it hosts B-W Koenigsdorf on Sunday in an Oberliga Mittelrhein matchup at the Sportpark Vichttal.

Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. local time.

Vichttal (14-5-8) enters the game after a 6-3 win at SSV Bornheim on May 31, its third straight result of three goals or more. The side has scored 18 goals in its last four matches, including a 6-0 thrashing of Teutonia Weiden on May 15 and a 3-3 draw with Siegburger SV on May 25.

The offensive surge has been balanced. Vichttal averages 2.7 goals per game at home this season, where it is 8-2-3.

B-W Koenigsdorf (7-9-11) comes in off a 2-0 defeat at GFC Düren on May 22, its second loss in three matches. The visiting side has been inconsistent, alternating wins and losses over its last six games, but has shown flashes of resilience — most recently a 3-2 home victory over Fortuna Koeln II on May 17.

Koenigsdorf’s form away from home has been a concern. The team is 3-5-5 on the road and has been outscored 26-15 in those matches. Its defense has leaked 2.1 goals per game overall.

The teams played to a 1-1 draw on Dec. 14 in Koenigsdorf, the most recent head-to-head meeting. In that match, Vichttal equalized in the second half after Koenigsdorf struck first.

Vichttal’s depth in attack could give it the edge. The home side has scored at least twice in eight of its last 10 games. Koenigsdorf, meanwhile, has kept only one clean sheet in its last 11 outings.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-1 victory for Vichttal.

The Oberliga Mittelrhein is the fifth tier of German football, part of the regional league system under the Regionalliga West.
