Pesch vs SSV Bornheim

PESCH, Germany (Interstat) — SSV Bornheim visits Pesch on Monday, May 25, in an Oberliga matchup that pits one of the league’s more consistent sides against a struggling home team. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 3-2 victory for the visitors.

The two teams met Nov. 30, with SSV Bornheim winning 5-3 at home. That result extended Bornheim’s recent dominance; the visitor has won four of the past five meetings.

SSV Bornheim enters on a two-game winning streak, most recently defeating GFC Düren 4-2 on Sunday, May 17. That victory followed a 3-0 win over SC Fortuna Köln II on May 10. Over their past 10 matches, SSV Bornheim is 6-4, with notable wins against ET Hohkeppel (3-1 on May 3), SF Duren (3-1 on April 19) and Teutonia Weiden (4-0 on March 29). Losses came against B-W Koenigsdorf (3-0 on April 26), Siegburger SV (3-1 on April 12), Wegberg-Beeck (4-0 on March 15) and Bergisch Gladbach (2-0 on March 7).

Pesch, by contrast, is in a severe downturn. The home side has lost eight consecutive matches dating to a 6-3 win over Hennef 05 on March 22. The most recent result was a 7-0 defeat to Bergisch Gladbach on April 19. Other recent lopsided losses include an 8-0 rout at VfL Vichttal on March 15 and a 12-1 defeat at ET Hohkeppel on Dec. 14. In its last 10 games, Pesch has been outscored 49-9.

The home side has not won at home since that Hennef victory. Its last victory overall was March 22. Pesch’s defense has been particularly leaky, conceding at least five goals in four of its past six matches.

Monday’s match is the first of two straight home games for Pesch before it travels to B-W Koenigsdorf on May 31. SSV Bornheim will host VfL Vichttal on May 31 after visiting Pesch.
