SSV Merten vs SpVg Porz 1919
COLOGNE, Germany (Interstat) — Oberliga action resumes Friday, May 22, 2026, when SSV Merten hosts SpVg Porz 1919 in a matchup of clubs trending in opposite directions.
Merten enters the game unbeaten in its last five outings, a stretch that includes a 4-1 win over Bergisch Gladbach on May 10 and a 6-0 thrashing of SF Duren on April 26. The home side drew 2-2 at Wegberg-Beeck on May 17, a result that extended its run to three wins and two draws since a 1-0 loss to Fortuna Koeln II on March 15. Merten’s defense has been stingy, posting four clean sheets in its past seven matches overall.
Porz, meanwhile, has struggled. A 5-1 loss to Hennef 05 on May 17 marked its sixth defeat in the last nine games. The visiting side has conceded at least three goals in six of those contests, including a 5-2 defeat at GFC Düren and a 5-1 loss to SSV Bornheim. Porz’s only win since late February came on Feb. 22, a 3-1 decision over Wegberg-Beeck, though it did earn a 2-2 draw with Fortuna Koeln II on April 19.
The teams last met Nov. 30, 2025, when Merten rolled to a 3-0 victory at Porz. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 3-1 win for the home side Friday.
Merten sits atop a solid run of form and will look to maintain momentum ahead of a May 31 trip to Teutonia Weiden and a June 7 home date with Siegburger SV. Porz hosts Frechen on May 31 before visiting Bergisch Gladbach on June 7.
Kickoff at Merten’s home ground is scheduled for 3 p.m. local time.
