WEGBERG-BEECK, Germany (Interstat) — Interstat’s game simulator projects SSV Merten will edge Wegberg-Beeck 2-1 on Sunday in an Oberliga matchup, but recent form suggests the visiting side carries significant momentum into the May 17 fixture.

SSV Merten enters the contest riding a four-match unbeaten streak, punctuated by a 6-0 demolition of SF Duren on April 26 and a 4-0 shutout of Hennef 05 on April 19. In their most recent outing Sunday, SSV Merten defeated Bergisch Gladbach 4-1. The club has scored at least four goals in three of its past five matches.

Wegberg-Beeck, by contrast, is coming off a 1-0 loss at FC Hennef 05 on May 10. That defeat snapped a two-match winning streak that included a 3-1 victory over VfL Vichttal on May 3 and a 1-0 win against GFC Düren on April 17.

The teams met most recently Nov. 16, 2025, when Wegberg-Beeck earned a 2-1 victory on SSV Merten’s home turf. That result is the only head-to-head data point available and provides Wegberg-Beeck with a psychological edge, though the venue shifts to their home pitch.

The Oberliga is the fifth tier of German football, and both clubs are jockeying for position in the league table. SSV Merten’s overall season record shows resilience: after a 2-0 defeat to Fortuna Koeln II on March 15, the team responded with a 2-0 win over GFC Düren on March 22 and a 5-2 triumph against Pesch on March 29. Wegberg-Beeck’s season has been more uneven.
