RSC Tilffois vs Flenu

TILFF, Belgium (Interstat) — Substitute Baptiste Ulens scored in the 13th minute and fellow reserve Mohan Lagneaux added a late insurance goal in the 86th to lead Flenu to a 2-0 victory over RSC Tilffois in Belgian Division 2 football on Sunday.

The match, played at Stade H. Colley-Sainval, saw the visiting side execute a professional performance to secure all three points and complete a season sweep of the home team. Flenu had previously defeated Tilffois 5-1 in November.

The early goal set the tone. Ulens, entering the game as a substitute, found the net just over 12 minutes into the contest, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to give Flenu a lead they would not relinquish. The assist was credited to defender Clarence Ngomsu.

Flenu controlled much of the match, though the home side struggled to create clear chances against an organized Flenu defense. The visitors’ back line, however, was not without disciplinary issues. Clarence Ngomsu received a yellow card in the 20th minute, one of four bookings for Flenu on the afternoon. Defenders Sael Ngomsu and Corneille Ngangala were also cautioned, as was midfielder Noah De Moerloose.

As Tilffois pushed for an equalizer in the latter stages, Flenu sealed the victory. Lagneaux, another impactful substitute, scored the decisive second goal with only four minutes remaining in regulation. The build-up involved multiple players, with assists awarded to De Moerloose, Sael Ngomsu and Corneille Ngangala on the play.

The result extends Flenu’s strong recent form and improves their record in Division 2 to nine wins, six losses and three draws this season. Their overall record across all competitions now stands at nine wins, seven losses and three draws. The victory aligns with pre-match projections from Interstat, whose game simulator had predicted a 2-1 Flenu win and whose ELO rating system gave Flenu a 53.9 percent probability of victory.

For RSC Tilffois, the loss marks another setback in a difficult campaign. They have now lost 10 of their 17 league matches, managing only four wins and three draws. Their overall record mirrors that league form. The team has struggled to score, failing to find the net in their last three Division 2 outings.

The match lacked the goal frenzy of the teams’ previous meeting but provided Flenu with a crucial away win as they look to maintain momentum in the league table. Tilffois, meanwhile, continues to search for answers at both ends of the pitch.

Flenu will look to build on this result when they host Entente Acren Lessines next Sunday, Jan. 25. RSC Tilffois will attempt to halt their skid on the road against Stade Vervietois on Saturday, Jan. 24.
