Flenu vs RFC 1912 Raeren-Eynatten
FLENU, Belgium (Interstat) — Baptiste Ulens scored a first-half hat trick in a stunning nine-minute outburst Sunday, powering Flenu to a decisive 3-0 victory over RFC 1912 Raeren-Eynatten in a Belgian Division 2 match at Complexe Sportif de Flénu.
The match, played Dec. 14, 2025, was effectively decided in a blistering opening quarter-hour as Ulens, Flenu’s forward, single-handedly dismantled the visiting defense. He opened the scoring in the ninth minute, then doubled the advantage just three minutes later in the 12th. His remarkable solo display was completed with a third goal in the 55th minute, sealing a comprehensive performance.
The result defied the pregame projection from Interstat’s game simulator, which had forecast a 1-1 draw. However, the statistical service’s ELO rating system had given Flenu a 67.4% probability to win, a forecast borne out emphatically on the pitch.
Ulens’ goals were facilitated by a host of Flenu playmakers, underscoring a dominant team performance. Assists were credited to substitutes Tom Deffet and Dorian Jeunehomme, defender Arno Ouzrouhene, midfielder Logan Erculisse, forward Ayoub Belasfar, defender Mohan Lagneaux and substitute Cédric Laschet.
The match was a physical affair, with seven yellow cards issued by the officiating crew. The cautions began in quick succession in the first half, with Flenu’s Ouzrouhene booked in the 22nd minute and Deffet following in the 23rd. Erculisse received a yellow in the 30th minute. The second half saw Jeunehomme cautioned in the 55th minute, Laschet in the 69th, Lagneaux in the 73rd and Belasfar in stoppage time.
With the win, Flenu improved its Division 2 record to 8 wins, 6 losses and 3 draws, pulling even on points with Raeren-Eynatten, which now holds an identical league record of 8-6-3. In terms of overall records across all competitions this season, Flenu moves to 8-7-3, while Raeren-Eynatten stands at 8-6-3.
The victory allowed Flenu to bounce back from a 3-2 home loss to Ganshoren on Dec. 7. Their form has been inconsistent, mixing heavy wins like a 5-1 victory over RSC Tilffois on Nov. 16 with narrow defeats.
Raeren-Eynatten saw a three-match winning streak snapped. The visitors had entered on a run of positive results, including a 2-1 win over RUS Binche on Dec. 7 and a 2-0 victory against RCS Brainois on Nov. 30. The shutout loss marked a return to the offensive struggles seen earlier in their campaign.
Looking ahead, Flenu will begin the new calendar year with a road match at RU Hutoise on Jan. 3, 2026, followed by a home fixture against FC United Richelle on Jan. 11. Raeren-Eynatten resumes its season on Jan. 4, 2026, hosting Royal Aywaille FC before traveling to face RFC Tournai on Jan. 10.
The match underscored Flenu’s potency at home this season and provided a stark reminder of Raeren-Eynatten’s vulnerabilities on the road, setting the stage for both clubs as they navigate the second half of the Division 2 schedule.
