KEDIRI, Indonesia (Interstat) — Persik Kediri and Persijap played to a 0-0 draw in Liga 1 action Monday at Stadion Brawijaya.

The match, which failed to produce a goal, was marked by physical play and eight yellow cards. Persijap’s Najeeb Yakubu received the first booking in the 13th minute, setting a contentious tone.

The result leaves Persik Kediri with a season record of 7 wins, 13 losses and 8 draws in the competition. Persijap’s record moves to 5 wins, 14 losses and 7 draws.

The draw defied pregame projections that heavily favored a Persik Kediri victory. Both teams remain in the lower half of the league table following the stalemate.
