KHORFAKKAN, United Arab Emirates (Interstat) — Two clubs seeking their first win in the Presidents Cup will meet Saturday when KhorFakkan S&CC hosts Kalba at Saqr bin Mohammad al Qassimi Stadium.

The match is the opening group stage game in the domestic cup competition for both UAE Pro League sides. Kalba enters with an 0-0 record in the cup, while KhorFakkan also sits at 0-0.

Form across all competitions, however, differs sharply. Kalba (0-1-1) is coming off a 2-1 victory over Dibba Al Fujairah on Sept. 20, a result that followed a 1-1 draw with powerhouse Al Ain FC. That win provided a positive start after a winless opening to the league campaign.

Conversely, KhorFakkan (0-3-3) is mired in a winless streak in the league, though it snapped that skid with a 2-1 away win against Ajman in its most recent outing on Oct. 18. Prior to that, the team had conceded four goals in a loss to this same Kalba side on Sept. 24.

The statistical service Interstat projects a 2-2 draw for the contest.

Following this cup tie, KhorFakkan’s schedule does not get easier, with a league match against Al Wasl SC looming on Oct. 31. Kalba will look to build on its recent momentum as it continues its cup campaign.
