TEL AVIV, Israel (Interstat) — Hapoel Tel Aviv opened its Ligat ha’Al season with a 2-0 victory over Bnei Sakhnin on Saturday at Bloomfield Stadium. The win defied a pregame projection that had forecast a draw. Stav Torial broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute, and Loizos Loizou doubled the lead eight minutes later in the 61st. Defender Doron Leidner provided an assist for the hosts, who controlled the match from start to finish. Bnei Sakhnin was held scoreless in its season debut.
