ASPTT Dijon vs Seyssinet-Pariset
DIJON, France (Interstat) — ASPTT Dijon hosts Seyssinet-Pariset on Saturday, May 9, in a National 3 matchup that pits a team seeking redemption against one trying to regain its early-season form. The game kicks off at a time to be determined.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-1 victory for the home side, but recent history suggests otherwise. In their last head-to-head meeting Jan. 17, Seyssinet-Pariset routed ASPTT Dijon 5-0 on the road, leaving little doubt about which side controlled the pitch.
Seyssinet-Pariset enters Saturday’s contest after a 3-2 win over Carnoux Football on April 25, snapping a three-match winless streak. Prior to that, the visitors had lost 4-1 at Stade Beaucairois, drawn 1-1 at ESC Rocheville and lost 2-1 at Lyon La Duchere. Their season has been erratic — wins against Montpellier U19 (2-1 on Feb. 7) and that dominant performance against Dijon bookended a stretch of six losses in seven matches from mid-February through April.
ASPTT Dijon, meanwhile, played to a 1-1 draw at Bourgoin-Jallieu on April 25 — their only result in the past five matches that did not end in defeat. They have not won since a 3-1 victory over Montpellier U19 on March 28. Prior to that, they lost 4-2 to Lyon La Duchere on April 18 and 2-0 at Olympique Ales-en-Cevennes on April 11. Overall, Dijon has managed just two wins in its last 13 matches, with its other victory a 2-0 shutout of ESC Rocheville on Feb. 7.
For Dijon, the biggest concern will be containing a Seyssinet-Pariset attack that scored five goals against them four months ago. But the visitors have been inconsistent on the road, with losses at Gallia Lucciana (1-0), Bourgoin-Jallieu (2-1) and Olympique Ales-en-Cevennes (3-1) this season.
After Saturday, Seyssinet-Pariset hosts ES Fosseenne on May 16, while Dijon travels to Riviera FC the same day.
