Bourgoin-Jallieu vs ASPTT Dijon
AP Sports Preview
BOURGOIN-JALLIEU, France (Interstat) — Bourgoin-Jallieu and ASPTT Dijon are set to meet Saturday, April 25, in a National 3 fixture with both teams seeking consistency in the lower rungs of French football.
The match kicks off at a venue to be announced, with Bourgoin-Jallieu serving as the home side. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw on Jan. 10 in Dijon, a result the Interstat game simulator projects will repeat Saturday with a final score of 1-1.
ASPTT Dijon enters the match after a 4-2 loss at home to Lyon La Duchere on April 18. That defeat extended a difficult stretch for the visitors, who have lost seven of their past nine matches. In that span, Dijon has managed only one win — a 3-1 victory over Montpellier U19 on March 28. The team’s most recent road form has been particularly troubling, with a 2-0 loss at Olympique Ales-en-Cevennes on April 11 and a 3-2 defeat at Carnoux Football on Feb. 21.
Bourgoin-Jallieu also played to a draw in its most recent outing, a 1-1 result at Carnoux Football on April 18. The home side has shown more resilience of late, going unbeaten in three matches with two wins and a draw. That run includes a 3-2 victory at Stade Beaucairois on April 10 and a 2-0 home win over Gallia Lucciana on March 21. However, consistency has also been an issue for Bourgoin-Jallieu, which has three wins, three losses and four draws in its past 10 games.
The matchup features two mid-table sides looking to climb the National 3 standings. Bourgoin-Jallieu will rely on its home advantage, while ASPTT Dijon aims to reverse a troubling trend of narrow defeats. Four of Dijon’s past six losses have been by a single goal.
Following Saturday’s contest, Bourgoin-Jallieu travels to ES Fosseenne on May 9, while ASPTT Dijon hosts Seyssinet-Pariset on the same date.
