Seyssinet-Pariset vs Carnoux Football
SEYSSINET-PARISET, France (Interstat) — A National 3 relegation six-pointer looms Saturday at Stade Municipal, where Seyssinet-Pariset hosts Carnoux Football in a matchup of French fifth-division sides desperate for a result.
Seyssinet-Pariset (4-5-13) enters the April 25 fixture after a 4-1 loss April 18 at Stade Beaucairois, their fifth defeat in six matches. The home side’s lone bright spot came April 11 with a 1-1 draw at ESC Rocheville, but they have struggled to find consistency, posting just one win since Jan. 17 — a 5-0 thrashing of ASPTT Dijon.
Carnoux Football (4-8-10) arrives in even starker form. They are winless in their last 10 matches dating to Feb. 21, when they earned a 3-2 decision over ASPTT Dijon. Since then, Carnoux has registered five defeats, including an 8-0 drubbing at Olympique Ales-en-Cevennes on March 28, and a 6-0 loss at Lyon La Duchere on April 11. Their most recent outing, a 1-1 draw at home against Bourgoin-Jallieu on April 18, snapped a four-match losing streak but offered little evidence of a revival.
The head-to-head history heavily favors the visitors. In their last meeting Jan. 10, Carnoux rolled to a 7-1 home win. That result remains an outlier, however, given Carnoux’s subsequent slide, which includes a 6-0 defeat to Marseille U19 on Feb. 13 and a 4-1 loss at Riviera FC on Jan. 17.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-1 victory for Seyssinet-Pariset, a reversal of January’s lopsided outcome. The home side will look to exploit Carnoux’s defensive fragility — the visitors have conceded 24 goals over their last seven matches.
Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. local time. Seyssinet-Pariset next travels to ASPTT Dijon on May 9, while Carnoux hosts Riviera FC the same day.
