Sorrento vs Audace Cerignola

ROME (Interstat) — Two struggling Serie C sides will look to reverse their fortunes when Sorrento hosts Audace Cerignola on Sunday.

The match at the Stadio Italia pits a Sorrento team that has struggled to turn draws into wins against an Audace Cerignola side mired in a deep slump. Both clubs enter the contest with just a single victory each in the Italian third division this season.

Sorrento (1-2-4) has proven difficult to beat, with four draws in seven league matches, but finding a winning formula has been elusive. Their most recent outing was a 1-1 draw with Benevento on Nov. 2. Their lone Serie C victory was a 1-0 result at Siracusa on Oct. 12.

Audace Cerignola (1-5-1) arrives in dire form, having lost five of its last six matches across all competitions. They are coming off a 4-2 home defeat to Atalanta U20 on Nov. 1 and have conceded 15 goals in their last four outings. Their defense will be a primary concern against a Sorrento team that has shown a propensity for close games.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, Audace Cerignola is projected to snap its skid with a 2-1 victory.

Following this match, Sorrento travels to face Crotone on Nov. 15, while Audace Cerignola visits Giugliano Calcio 1928 on Nov. 16.
