Utah Royals vs Washington Spirit

SANDY, Utah (Interstat) — The Washington Spirit and Utah Royals will meet Sunday in a National Women’s Soccer League match at America First Field, a contest pitting a playoff-bound side against a team playing for pride in the season’s final stretch.

The Spirit (13-6-11, 50 points) enter the match firmly in the postseason picture, having secured a mix of results in their recent outings. Their last match was a 3-2 home loss to the Orlando Pride on Oct. 18. Prior to that, Washington’s form was strong, going unbeaten in their previous five contests with wins over San Diego Wave and Seattle Reign.

Conversely, the Royals (8-16-10, 34 points) are near the bottom of the table and looking to end a difficult season on a positive note. Utah is coming off a 2-1 road loss to the Seattle Reign on Oct. 17 and has managed just one win in its last five matches.

The two teams have a recent history of high-scoring draws. Their two meetings this season, both played in Washington in May, ended in identical 3-3 results, suggesting another tightly contested match is likely.

According to the Interstat game simulator, the most probable outcome is another draw, projecting a 1-1 final score.

Kickoff is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025.
