K. Londerzeel SK vs Royal Cappellen FC
LONDERZEEL, Belgium (Interstat) — Holly Tshimanga scored two goals in a dominant first-half display as K. Londerzeel SK defeated Royal Cappellen FC 3-1 in a Belgian Division 2 match Saturday at Eeckelaers Stadion.
The victory solidified Londerzeel’s strong position in the league, improving its season record to 18 wins, five losses and four draws in the competition. Cappellen’s struggles continued, falling to eight wins, 16 losses and four draws.
Tshimanga opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, putting the hosts ahead with a well-taken finish. He doubled his tally just seven minutes later in the 29th minute, capitalizing on a defensive error to give Londerzeel a commanding early lead.
The match then saw a remarkable flurry of three goals in just eight minutes. Immediately after Tshimanga’s second, Cappellen pulled one back through substitute Conor Laerenbergh in the 30th minute, offering a brief moment of hope for the visitors.
That hope was short-lived. Londerzeel defender Mats De Bauw restored the two-goal cushion in the 50th minute, sealing the result. The goal was assisted by goalkeeper Björn Joossens, who launched a long ball to initiate the play, and substitute Elliot Cranshoff, who provided the final pass.
The game grew increasingly physical as Cappellen tried to mount a comeback. Joossens received a yellow card in the 31st minute, just moments after his team conceded. Londerzeel substitutes Vic Van Osselaer and Elliot Cranshoff were also booked in the 58th and 73rd minutes, respectively.
The result extended Londerzeel’s impressive home form and continued a pattern from the teams’ previous meeting this season, a 3-1 Londerzeel victory on Nov. 8, 2025. The performance fell slightly short of the pregame projection by Interstat’s game simulator, which had forecast a 4-1 scoreline. The analytics firm’s ELO rating system had given Londerzeel an 81.6% probability of winning.
With the win, Londerzeel maintains its push near the top of the Division 2 table, demonstrating a consistent attacking threat led by Tshimanga. The team will look to continue its momentum when it hosts Sportief Rotselaar on April 19.
For Royal Cappellen FC, the loss marks another setback in a difficult season. The team has managed only one win in its last eight league matches and will seek to regroup before hosting KVK Wellen on April 18.
The match was played in front of a home crowd at Eeckelaers Stadion on a cool April evening, with Londerzeel’s clinical early finishing proving the decisive factor.
