SINT-TRUIDEN, Belgium (Interstat) — In a remarkable display of offensive firepower, Jong Essevee and KFC Nijlen played to a 5-5 draw in a Belgian Division 2 match Sunday at Daio Wasabi Stayen Stadium.

The visitors from Nijlen struck first, but the teams traded goals in a frenetic contest that defied pregame projections favoring the home side. Adam Nhaili led Jong Essevee with a hat trick, including a late equalizer in the 89th minute, but was sent off with a red card in second-half stoppage time.

Eight other players scored in the match, including KFC Nijlen’s Kevin Clerckx, who opened the scoring in the fourth minute. The result leaves Jong Essevee with a record of 17 wins, 24 losses and eight draws in Division 2, while KFC Nijlen stands at eight wins, 11 losses and 10 draws.
