COPENHAGEN, Denmark (Interstat) — A crucial Danish Superliga derby is set for Sunday as Viborg hosts Vejle in a match that could have significant implications in the league table.

The matchup at Viborg Stadion is a replay of their Aug. 29 meeting, which saw Viborg secure a narrow 2-1 away victory. That result is part of a strong recent run for Viborg, which enters the contest on a three-match unbeaten streak in the league. Viborg is coming off a commanding 3-0 win over Fredericia on Nov. 9 and a 3-2 victory against Randers on Nov. 2.

Vejle, meanwhile, brings potent offensive firepower, having demolished Lyseng 4-0 in its last outing on Oct. 29. However, its form has been inconsistent, with a 3-0 loss to Nordsjaelland on Oct. 5 highlighting its vulnerabilities. Vejle’s attack has proven it can score in bunches, as evidenced by a pair of 6-0 victories over Skanderborg in early September, but securing points has been a challenge.
