AUBAGNE, France (Interstat) — Substitute Mokrane Bentoumi scored twice to lead Aubagne to a 2-1 victory over Le Puy Foot in a National 1 match Friday at Stade Charles Massot 1.

Bentoumi opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time and added a second goal in the 83rd minute. Le Puy Foot’s Marvin Adelaide scored a late consolation goal in the 90th minute, assisted by fellow substitute Abdallah Ali Mohamed. Ali Mohamed also received a yellow card in the 77th minute.

The result defied pre-match projections, which heavily favored the home side. Aubagne begins its league campaign with a win, while Le Puy Foot starts with a loss.
