MILAN (Interstat) — Inter Milan opened its Champions League campaign with a 2-1 victory over Qairat FK on Wednesday at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. Lautaro Martínez broke a scoreless deadlock for the hosts just before halftime. Qairat’s substitute Ofri Arad equalized in the 55th minute, but Inter defender Carlos Augusto scored the decisive goal 12 minutes later to secure the win. The result defied a pregame projection from Interstat that forecast a 1-1 draw. Inter Milan begins the group stage with a win, while Qairat FK starts with a loss.
