BUFFALO, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Canisius Golden Griffins dominated the Saint Peter’s Peacocks for a 5-1 victory in an NCAA women’s soccer match on Saturday.

Canisius (3-4-3) overwhelmed the visitors with a balanced offensive attack in front of 225 fans. Azaria Fagan led the Golden Griffins with a goal and an assist, while Jessica Whitaker set up three scores. Elizabeth Cavanaugh, Skylar Cornell, Jazmin Herrera and Emilia Nuttall also found the net for Canisius.

The Saint Peter’s Peacocks (3-5-2) managed a single goal in the loss. The result defied a pregame projection from Interstat that had forecast a 2-2 draw, though its ELO system gave Canisius a 67% chance to win.
