O'Higgins vs Unión La Calera

TALCA, Chile (Interstat) — CD O’Higgins hosts Union La Calera on Saturday, May 16, in a Week 22 matchup of the Chilean Primera División at Estadio Fiscal de Talca, with both sides seeking to build momentum in the second half of the season.

The teams met just over a month ago, on April 11, when Union La Calera defeated O’Higgins 2-0 at home. That result extended Union La Calera’s recent dominance in the series, though Saturday’s contest offers O’Higgins a chance at redemption on its own pitch.

Union La Calera enters on a positive note, having beaten Coquimbo Unido 2-1 on April 25 in its most recent league outing. Before that, the club posted a 3-0 win over Deportivo Antofagasta on March 22, sandwiched between a 6-0 loss at Huachipato on March 15 and a 3-3 draw with Palestino on March 8. The April 11 victory over O’Higgins remains Union La Calera’s most recent home win.

O’Higgins, meanwhile, played to a 2-2 draw at Union Española on May 3, its last match. That result followed a 2-0 loss to Union La Calera on April 11, a 2-2 draw at Universidad Católica on March 22, a 2-1 loss at Audax Italiano on March 7, and earlier results dating to late September 2025 – a 1-0 win at Union Española and a 0-0 home draw with the same side.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw. Its ELO system gives O’Higgins a 56.70 percent probability of victory, suggesting a slight home-field advantage.

Saturday’s fixture is part of a busy stretch for both clubs. Union La Calera travels to Audax Italiano on May 17, the day after this match. O’Higgins visits Palestino on May 26.

With the league table still fluid in Week 22, a win for either side could provide a valuable boost. O’Higgins will look to exploit home support at Estadio Fiscal, while Union La Calera aims to replicate its early April success. Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday evening.
