VITORIA-GASTEIZ, Spain (April 6, 2026) (Interstat) — Deportivo Alaves delivered a commanding 4-1 victory over CD Lugo in a Segunda División match Monday at Estadio de Mendizorroza. The result sharply contrasted with a pregame simulation that had projected a 1-0 win for the visitors.

The home side dominated the Week 31 fixture, improving its league record to two wins and one loss. Lugo, which received yellow cards for Guilherme Borges Guedes and Miguel Loureiro Ameijeda late in the match, fell to 0-1 in the competition. Alaves’s decisive performance defied one statistical model but validated another that gave the club a high probability of victory.
