CHONBURI, Thailand (Interstat) — Suphanburi delivered a major upset in the Thai FA Cup on Saturday, defeating favored Buriram United 2-1 at Chonburi UTA Stadium.

Buriram United’s Supachok Sarachat opened the scoring in the 25th minute and added another just three minutes later, seemingly setting the visitors on course for victory. Suphanburi responded before halftime, with Brazilian attacker Danilo Almeida Alves cutting the deficit in the 35th.

Danilo completed his brace in the 64th minute, leveling the score. Buriram’s Suphanat Mueanta restored the lead in the 72nd, but Suphanburi found a late equalizer to force the victory. The result marked a significant cup upset, defying pre-match projections that heavily favored Buriram United.
