Preview: Floresta U20 vs. Athletico PR U20 in São Paulo Youth Cup

OURO BRANCO, Brazil (Interstat) — A clash of youth sides from different states highlights São Paulo Youth Cup action Sunday when Floresta U20 hosts Athletico Paranaense U20.

The match is scheduled for Estádio Municipal Dr. José Lancha Filho in Ouro Branco.

Athletico PR U20 arrives with momentum from a 1-0 victory over powerhouse Palmeiras U20 last Saturday. That result snapped a three-game winless streak in youth competition for the Paraná-based club. Their recent form, however, has been inconsistent, including a 3-1 home loss to São Paulo U20 and a 2-0 away defeat to the same opponent earlier in September.

Floresta U20, based in Ceará, looks to rebound on home turf after a 2-1 away loss to Ferroviario U20 last Saturday.

Statistical models heavily favor the visitors. Interstat’s ELO rating system gives Athletico PR U20 a 76.30% probability of winning. The organization’s game simulator projects a 2-1 victory for the away side.

The São Paulo Youth Cup, one of Brazil’s most prestigious youth tournaments, often features guest clubs from outside São Paulo state, setting the stage for this interstate duel. Floresta will aim to leverage its home-field advantage in Minas Gerais to overcome the favored Athletico PR side.

Kickoff is set for Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025.
