ODENSE, Denmark (Interstat) — Japan delivered a dominant performance Sunday, routing Denmark 5-0 in a women’s international friendly at Nature Energy Park. The result defied pregame projections that heavily favored the home side.

Japan’s comprehensive victory, part of the Friendlies Women competition, was sealed by a goal from defender Moeka Minami in the 78th minute. The visitor’s attack overwhelmed Denmark, which has now lost all three of its matches across all competitions this season.

Japan improved its record in this competition to two wins and one loss. Denmark fell to 0-1. The lopsided score contradicted a Interstat game simulator projection of a 2-2 draw and an ELO system forecast giving Denmark a 65.7% chance to win.
