BORÅS, Sweden (Interstat) — Michael Baidoo’s first-half strike was answered by second-half goals from Emil Varhaugvik Breivik and David Datro Fofana as Molde defeated Elfsborg 2-1 on Sunday in a UEFA Europa Conference League group-stage match at Borås Arena.

The Norwegian visitors improved to 1-1-1 in the competition, while Elfsborg fell to 0-1-1.

Elfsborg took the lead in the 40th minute when midfielder Baidoo, a native of Accra, Ghana, found the net. The goal was Baidoo’s first of the campaign for the Swedish club.

Molde responded in the 54th minute as midfielder Breivik leveled the score. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound Breivik played 74 minutes before being substituted.

The decisive moment came in the 83rd minute when Fofana, a 5-11, 180-pound attacker, put Molde ahead. Fofana logged 88 minutes before leaving the match.

The game was the second of the group stage for both teams. Each side will have four remaining matches.
