DUBLIN (Interstat) — Switzerland and Ireland played to a 1-1 draw in an international friendly at Aviva Stadium on Friday.

Xherdan Shaqiri gave Switzerland the lead in the 23rd minute, scoring from close range. Ireland equalized later in the match. The result was in line with the pregame projection from Interstat’s simulator.

Switzerland received yellow cards for Silvan Widmer and Nico Elvedi, while Ireland’s Séamus Coleman was also booked. The Swiss hold a slight edge in the all-time series between the teams, which now stands at eight wins for Switzerland, five for Ireland and five draws.
