Gütersloh vs Werder Bremen

GUTERSLOH, Germany (Interstat) — The Gutersloh women’s football team will host Werder Bremen women on Saturday in a Club Friendlies Women match at their home ground.

Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026.

Werder Bremen enters the friendly after a 2-0 loss to Bayern Munich on Wednesday, April 29. That result extended a mixed stretch for the visitors, who are winless in their past three matches overall (0-2-1). Their last victory came March 29, a 2-1 triumph over SGS Essen.

Overall this season, Werder Bremen has posted a 4-5-5 record in its previous 14 matches across all competitions, with draws against RB Leipzig, VfL Wolfsburg, Hamburger SV, Hoffenheim and Nurnberg. The team’s offense has struggled at times, scoring just 12 goals in 14 games while conceding 16.

Gutersloh, meanwhile, comes off a 2-1 victory Wednesday against SGS Essen (Interstat) — its second win over Essen in as many meetings this year. The home side’s recent results are limited; in addition to the two matches against Essen, Gutersloh lost 2-0 to 1. FC Magdeburg on Aug. 17, 2025, and drew 1-1 with Wolfsburg II on Aug. 9, 2025.

Projections for Saturday’s game are mixed. Interstat’s game simulator forecasts a 2-1 victory for Gutersloh. However, the same company’s ELO system gives Werder Bremen a 75.60 percent probability of winning.

Werder Bremen will turn its attention to league play immediately after the friendly. Their next 10 matches include a Saturday, May 2 fixture at Koln (Interstat) — a conflict with the Gutersloh game (Interstat) — followed by home matches against Carl Zeiss Jena on May 10 and Bayer Leverkusen on May 17, all in the Frauen Bundesliga.

The friendly is part of the Club Friendlies Women series, offering teams an opportunity to fine-tune tactics outside of competitive league matches.
